Temperature-controlled full-load trunking

A full load means the vehicle is yours. One customer’s product, one temperature specification, no other freight sharing the space. We trunk chilled and frozen full loads across the UK daily, up to a 52-pallet double-decker trailer at the top of the range.

Sized to the load, not the other way round

People meet us through a small van dropping a single sample and assume that’s the operation. Then they see the rest: around 150 vehicles across six sizes, from vans to artics. That range matters for trunking because a “full load” isn’t one size. An 18-tonne rigid takes 14–16 pallets. An artic takes 26. Beyond that, our three double-deck trailers take it to 52. We put the job on the vehicle it needs, whichever end of the range that is.

The nightly trunk network

Every night, trunks run between all four of our depots and north to our Scottish partner: the backbone that makes next-day national delivery real rather than aspirational. Your full load can ride a scheduled lane or run as its own dedicated journey; either way it moves overnight and delivers next day.

Depot to depot, or site to RDC

Trunking work splits two ways. Some customers move stock between their own sites or into our storage as a buffer. Others run regular lanes into retailer RDCs, where the trailer arrives against a booking reference and a timed slot. Both get the same treatment: the temperature is set to your product’s specification, monitored continuously, and recorded against the consignment from the moment it’s sealed.

Why dedicated matters for temperature

On a shared vehicle, your product lives with someone else’s door openings. On a dedicated load in a normal run, the doors open twice: loading and delivery. That’s the cleanest temperature trace a cold chain can produce, and for high-value or sensitive product it’s often the difference between a query and a rejection.
